Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 3, 2026  ·  Evan Paul Lazar (ABN 76318734086), trading as SinkWise

Our Commitment

SinkWise is committed to making its website (sinkwise.app) and web application (my.sinkwise.app) — together, the "Service" — accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to plan and manage their savings independently, regardless of ability, and we work to continually improve the accessibility and usability of the Service.

The Standard We Work To

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG defines how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities — including visual, auditory, motor and cognitive impairments — and Level AA is the standard referenced by accessibility laws and regulators in most jurisdictions.

This statement is also made with regard to our obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) in Australia, where SinkWise is operated from, and with awareness of comparable laws that apply to our users elsewhere, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the United States, the Accessible Canada Act, and the European Accessibility Act.

Conformance Status

SinkWise is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the Service do not yet fully conform to the standard. We are actively working to close these gaps.

Measures We Take

To make the Service as accessible as possible, we:

  • Use semantic HTML structure — headings, labels, lists and landmarks — so screen readers can navigate the Service meaningfully;
  • Associate visible labels with every form input, and describe icon-only buttons with text alternatives (aria-labels);
  • Design for strong colour contrast between text and backgrounds, and offer a dark mode;
  • Support keyboard interaction for core tasks such as signing in, creating funds and recording deposits;
  • Present key figures (balances, goals, progress percentages) as real text, not only inside charts or graphics;
  • Use clear, plain language throughout the app, including in error messages, which state what happened and what to do next;
  • Keep layouts responsive so the Service can be used at high zoom levels and on small screens;
  • Consider accessibility when building new features, and treat accessibility problems as bugs to be fixed, not enhancements.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the Service may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Charts and graphs — some visualisations (such as progress charts and forecasts) are rendered as canvas graphics that screen readers cannot read directly. Wherever possible, the same information is also available as plain text on the page, and we are working to improve non-visual alternatives.
  • Colour-coded status indicators — some status chips use colour alongside text; we are reviewing them to ensure no information is conveyed by colour alone.
  • Animations — some decorative animations do not yet respond to the "reduce motion" system preference. We plan to honour this preference.
  • Third-party content — checkout is provided by Stripe and bot-protection by Cloudflare Turnstile. We chose these providers partly for their own accessibility efforts, but we do not control their interfaces.

Compatibility

The Service is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers (such as VoiceOver, NVDA and JAWS), screen magnification, and speech-recognition software. The Service requires JavaScript to run.

Feedback — Tell Us If Something Isn't Working

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of SinkWise. If you encounter an accessibility barrier — a page you can't navigate, a control you can't operate, content you can't perceive — please tell us:

  • Email: Please contact us through this website's contact page (please include "Accessibility" in the message's first line)

Please describe the problem, the page it happened on, and the browser and any assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within 5 business days, and to fix genuine accessibility barriers as a priority. If a barrier can't be fixed promptly, we'll work with you to provide the information or function you need another way.

Assessment and Review

We assess the accessibility of SinkWise through self-evaluation against WCAG 2.1 AA, including keyboard-only testing, contrast checking, and automated accessibility tooling. This statement is reviewed and updated as the Service changes, and at least annually.

Formal Complaints

We would prefer the chance to fix any problem directly, and we take every report seriously. However, if you are not satisfied with our response, you may be entitled to raise a complaint with the accessibility or human-rights body in your jurisdiction — in Australia, the Australian Human Rights Commission.
